The Saleen S7 was developed and produced by Steve Saleen, owner and founder of Saleen Inc., a company known for tuning Mustangs and competing in the GT racing circuit. The S7 was entirely handmade, the first car to be completely produced by Saleen, and America’s first rear-engine production supercar. It boasted 550hp at 6,400RPM, a top speed of 220MPH, and was made between 2000 and 2006.
In 2005 through 2009, the S7 was upgraded to the S7 Twin Turbo, featuring two enormous Garrett turbochargers, boosting the horsepower from 550 up to 750 and reaching a top speed of 248MPH. Throughout the entire production range of both the S7 and S7 Twin Turbo, there were only around 75 chassis sold which includes about 16 racing chassis, as each car took a long time to build.
In 2005, Saleen tacked on the factory-optional Competition Package for the Twin Turbo, seen on this car, which pushed the horsepower up to an astounding 1,000HP.
This Saleen S7 is one of those cars. One of just 2 built from the factory with the Competition Package and the first built with 1,000HP option. Massively specced with nearly $400,000 in options alone including the Lemans Aero Kit, PCM Upgrade, TT Engine Upgrade, TT Suspension Upgrade, and Shifter Upgrade, which pushed original MSRP to nearly $1 million.
Sold new to Michael Fux through Prestige Imports in Miami Beach FL, then sold to Manny Khoshbin of Orange County CA. This Saleen S7 has only 3 owners and has covered just over 1,000 miles from new. Car Cave Collection purchased the S7 in 2017 and in 2018 a project was undertaken to make this Saleen a much more reliable, powerful and useable supercar. Not known for their initial reliability, this car was the subject of a multi-year upgrade of all major systems by Heffner Performance. New wiring harness, new turbos, new injectors, new cooling system, MOTEC Engine Management System, and upgraded flex-fuel system now tuned for e85. The engine was rebuilt and upgraded by Mike Fountain. This is probably the most well sorted of all 60 street-legal S7’s built.
This true One-of-One American supercar with racing pedigree and stunning looks represents a true opportunity to acquire the ultimate example. Painted in the S7’s signature color of Lizstick Red, named after Steve Saleen’s wife, Elizabeth. The car is first painted silver metallic with another coat of the red metallic over top to create the depth and effect.
